The Critical Designer

Research is an integral part of creative and professional development. it provides accurate representation in design.

Remaking theory, Rethinking theory - Andrew Blauvelt
I have annotated some key areas I that highlighted the ideas on why research is important. it is important as a designer to be able to place yourself within the design field, Blauvelt emphasised this in his essay, He shows light on the idea that designers have the power to redefine design within their areas and mould it to create new meanings, this supports the idea that design is always ever evolving and changing the way audiences view graphic design. Research is crucial when it comes to developing ideas and furthering your experimentations when it comes to creating. Being able to be inspired by current and past design, subjects, and society is an effective process of becoming a successful graphic designer.
